GET TO KNOW SUZANNE:

What is something meaningful to you about what you do here at The Rothfeld Center?

Pretty much everything I do here at the Rothfeld Center is meaningful. I work with a remarkable group of colleagues dedicated to providing exceptional alternative health care to patients equally motivated to get well. Every day there are new discoveries. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing an individual patient transform on some level whether freedom from pain, newfound energy, initiating healthy lifestyle practices or approaching life from a more creative perspective.

What is your favorite recipe(s)?

I just love clean, simple, healthy recipes. Mixed greens with chopped cucumber and strawberries, goat cheese, toasted walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette (3 TBSP olive oil, 1 TBSP balsamic vinegar, 2 tsp maple syrup, salt/pepper to taste)

What do you like to do to relax?

When the weather is nice I love to sit on my front porch with cat Jasper and read an inspiring book.

How do you stay healthy all year long?

A consistent hot yoga practice. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Time spent in nature. And most importantly remaining closely connected to my friends and family.

Is there a person/movie/book/etc. that inspires you?

I am a voracious reader so picking one inspiring book is tough but in general I am drawn to books that get me thinking about my life from a unique perspective. The writings of Caroline Myss, a modern day mystic….my favorite of her books is Defy Gravity: Healing Beyond the Bounds of Reason-she gets us to imagine the greatest possible outcome for our lives despite all of the struggles. And Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now-any little bit of wisdom in this book is worth considering.
