Glenn S. Rothfeld
Dr. Rothfeld has practiced integrative medicine for over 35 years. An author and lecturer, he developed one of the nation’s first college courses on Alternative Medicine for Tufts University. He has authored a number of books on topics ranging from arthritis to heart disease, including the bestseller, Thyroid Balance, which has brought people from all over the world to his practice. Dr. Rothfeld’s specialties include the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders and chronic illnesses. He has years of experience treating patients with adrenal fatigue, heavy metal toxicity, and chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as cancer and autoimmune disorders (including neurotoxic issues like Parkinson’s and MS). He frequently treats people who have been previously misdiagnosed. Dr. Rothfeld’s treatments include acupuncture, nutrient infusion, chelation, nutritional protocols, and the prescription of herbal supplements.

Having worked in the field of Integrative Medicine for over 35 years, Beth has been a nurse on staff at The Rothfeld Center since 2007. She earned her degree as Nurse Practitioner from Boston College School of Nursing, where she graduated with distinction. “I approach each patient as truly unique,” Beth says, “and enjoy diving into the complexities of each individual’s health situation. I love helping people sort through what’s ailing them – and more than anything, I love helping people get their life back.” Beth treats a range of conditions, including allergy, autoimmune disease, adrenal fatigue, heavy metal toxicity, chronic fatigue syndrome, and thyroid ailments. She also has extensive experience with bio-identical hormone therapy.

Sophia DaRosa, NP has been working in integrative medicine for the last decade. Sophia graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts Boston where she received her Masters of Science as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She also holds Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and in Nursing. Sophia has completed Basic and Advanced courses in Allergy and Immunology from the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and has also completed training in Inhalant Allergies and Food Sensitivities from the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. She is currently working on certification from the Institute of Functional Medicine. Sophia has extensive experience with environmental allergies and food sensitivities, as well as a strong interest in gastrointestinal issues, adrenal fatigue, thyroid disorders, and autoimmune conditions. Sophia cares deeply about connecting with patients, making sure they feel heard and are at ease while working through various chronic medical conditions. She values the whole picture of health and wellness and how it relates uniquely to each person.

MD, MA, LAc
Erich Goetzel MD, MA, LAc was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. He worked as a licensed family physician in Vienna before moving to New York City to complete a second residency in Psychiatry, a fellowship in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and training in Interpersonal Psychoanalysis. Since 2002, he has led Massachusetts’ first Progressive Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) Teams as well as multiple outreach and community treatment efforts. As an independently licensed Acupuncturist and graduate of the Institute of Functional Medicine’s inaugural class, Dr. Goetzel's mission has been to integrate Functional Medicine, Acupuncture and Lifestyle Medicine into his clinical work with psychiatric patients.
In 2010, Dr. Goetzel was appointed Medical Director of Eliot Human Services-- one of Massachusetts' largest social service non-profit agencies with a multidisciplinary staff of 1800 professionals serving over 20,000 adults, children and families each year. In this role, Dr. Goetzel oversees over 100 community treatment programs including psychiatric outpatient clinics, supported housing projects, crisis stabilization units and homelessness services.
Dr. Goetzel’s treats a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, dementia, concentration difficulties (including ADD/ADHD), OCD, and gut problems, such as SIBO and IBS. He is sought after for his use of the ReCODE program to reverse cognitive decline. You can read more about it here. He sees patients ages 18+.

Carolyn Gillespie, NP has been working in women's health for over 20 years. She graduated from Regis College with her Masters of Science as a Nurse Practitioner and Graduate Certificate in Integrative Health. Carolyn has also completed the Institute of Functional Medicine's Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice training. Her focus is on individualized care, working with patients to find improved health across the lifespan. She has a special interest in the holistic management of allergies, fatigue, thyroid imbalances, PMS, menopause, hormone management and fertility.
Carolyn enjoys working in an integrative framework as it allows her to truly connect with patients on their path to wellness. Carolyn is also a certified yoga instructor and Reiki practitioner; she enjoys helping patients integrate mindfulness practices into their lives. Carolyn combines conventional medicine with supplements, nutritional support and lifestyle changes to help patients find balance and health.
